Therapy and This Season

I’m sitting in my office in Cleveland Ohio. The forecast calls for Sunny and a high of 72 F outside. Tomorrow its expecting 32 F. This is the midwest and its the end of May aws many of us know this is pretty normal. The warm weather has my mind going a million miles an hour thinking about all the I have to do and on this 70 F day I finally have the energy and motivation to do so. I need to up date my website, add some content to instagram, make reminders to update treatment plans and so much more. Of course it’s spring in Cleveland and like I said tomorrow there is a high of 32 F. So I remind myself to slow down and focus on going through some referrals and getting folks scheduled for their first sessions.

Spring is actually a really meaningful time to start therapy not because you’re supposed to be “better,” but because you might finally have a little more capacity.

In therapy, we’re not chasing a new version of you.

We’re working toward:

  • Feeling more regulated in your body

  • Understanding your patterns without shame

  • Building skills that actually work in your real life

  • Creating space for you to exist as you are

At your pace.
